EFL Teacher

Job title: Teacher of English as a Foreign Language (EFL Teacher)

Reports to: Director of Studies (DOS) and Senior EFL Teacher (SEFL)

Location: 15 residential and 2 non-residential centres across the UK

Contract and remuneration:

1. Four weeks with a possible extension
2. Non residential teachers: Half days contract: 21h, including 15h of contact teaching; full days contract: 42h, including 30h of contact teaching
3. Residential teachers: full days contract 42h, including 30h of contact teaching
4. Full board and accommodation provided free of charge for all residential staff, lunch provided for non-residential staff at residential centres

Job overview:

The EFL Teacher’s key responsibility is the preparation, co-ordination and teaching of English as part of the academic programme. All EFL Teachers report directly to the DOS or SEFL and work closely with them to assist in the student testing, timetabling, progress monitoring and administration of EFL classes.

First Degree and

CELTA or Trinity TESOL, or PGCE, or other *


First Aid Certificate

Safeguarding Children Level 1 certificate


Min six hours of observed teaching practice as part of the training course

Previous experience in summer school environment

Previous experience in teaching young learners

Personal attributes

Smart appearance, team player

Native English speaker

Sensitive to cultural differences

Skills and abilities

Clear communicator with a natural ability to explain different aspects of English language

Punctual and organised

Flexibility, adaptability and enthusiasm


Eligible to live and work in the UK

*Other TEFL qualifications (validated by an external body to include a minimum of six hours’ observed teaching practice) and considerable experience in the field of EFL teaching will be reviewed and considered.
