Job title: Director of Studies (DOS)

Reports to: Centre Director (CD) and Academic Director (AD)

Location: 15 residential and 2 non-residential centres across the UK

Contract and remuneration:

  1. Four weeks with a possible extension
  2. 48 hours a week
  3. Full board and accommodation provided free of charge for all residential staff

Job overview:

The DOS’s key responsibility is the implementation, smooth running, administration and ultimately successful delivery of all aspects of the summer school academic programme at the centre. The role is a senior management position therefore the DOS is expected to fulfil a demanding workload.

Education/training/

qualifications

First Degree

CELTA or Trinity TESOL, or PGCE

DELTA or Dip TESOL

First Aid certificate

Safeguarding Children Level 1 certificate

Experience

Min of two years teaching EFL

Proficient at using Excel, etc.

Experience of managing teams in summer school environment

Experience of testing and placement of students

Experience of observation of teachers (with feedback)

Personal attributes

Ability  to lead and manage an academic team

Smart appearance, enthusiastic team player

Skills and abilities

Excellent communication skills and proficient in English language

Excellent organisational skills

Ability to multi-task

Ability to work in high pressure environment

Proven leadership skills

Other

Eligible to live and work in the UK
