Activity Leader



Job title: Activity Leader (AL)

Reports to: Head of Sports & Activities (HSA)

Location: 15 residential and 2 non-residential centres across the UK

Contract and remuneration:

  1. 2 to 4 weeks contract; 42h per week
  2. Full board and accommodation provided at £37.45 a week (£5.35 a day)

Job overview

The AL is responsible for the smooth and successful delivery of the activities programme (co-ordinated by the HSA).  The role of the AL is pivotal to the promotion and delivery of the activity programme, ensuring students are motivated and all activities are run to a high standard.  The AL is responsible for making sure that all students are involved in the various activities, paying special attention to the individual students.

Previous experience working with children/teenagers and in a team

Competent sportsperson with excellent knowledge of rules and organisation of sports/games

Previous summer school experience, ideally in a residential position

Personal attributes

Flexible approach to the working day

Smart appearance, enthusiastic team player

Skills and abilities

Ability to create and sustain working relationships with children and young adults

Excellent communication skills and proficient in English language

Outgoing personality

Ability to work in high pressure environment

Ability to ‘think on your feet’

Ability to motivate and enjoy working with large groups of children/teenagers

Native English speaker
